Sound Design Test Vision - 2016 - Tristan.P

When I applied to ENJMIN School, I had to create sounds inspiration for a game idea I had. It was a narrative game created around the book "L'enfance d'un chef" from jean Paul Sartre. During his progression trough his childhood village, the character was confronted to visions. I created two tracks :

- The first one is a recreated soundscape of a village during the early 20th century. I used field recording and sound effects, I tried to recreate the athmosphere of an animated village in which the character evolves.

- The second track is more abstract, I used sound effects to create an atmosphere reflecting the nightmares of the character. It is a disturbing environment where realistic sounds are replaced by synthetics, glitch and blurred sounds.

For my applycation to a school (SATIS, Marseille), I had to create a two minutes track around the theme "Laugh Hunter" "Chasseur de Rires". I decided to record friends to discuss about what the theme was evoking to them. The goal of the track was to put together/oppose their ideas to recreate a debate between them and to offer different point of views around the subject.

Sound Portrait Corte Univerty Library - 2015 - Tristan.P

For my application to another school (ENSATT, Lyon), I had to create a three minutes track to portrait an architectural space. I've been studying in Corte, Corsica and decided to portray the brand new university library.  The track is created around a perambulation around the library which is organised in different sections. I recorded sounds using NagraVI and Schoeps ORTF microphones to play with stereo environment. It was an interesting idea to make a sound portrait of a building. I tried to let the auditor hear the materials, the architecture but also to portray how the building is organised, the different sections of the library, I also tried to give a place to corsican language which was highlighted in this building and a major element of corsican culture. My goal of the portrait is to call out memories of auditors of their own libraires to let them imagine the library through the sound journey.
